Why do I sometimes see a rating of ‘Excellent’ for ‘Quality of Cut’ (in the Interactive Diamond Search results) and then when I view at the diamond’s certificate, the certificate has no ‘cut grade’ at all?
Quality of a Diamond's Cut
Most diamond grading laboratories do not grade ‘cut’ for non-round diamond shapes (some are slowly beginning to for certain shapes, like for example princess cut diamonds).
And so, as we are diamond experts, in order to be able to quantify for you and report to you the cut of all the diamonds listed at Tataza Diamonds we have developed our own standardised method for grading quality of diamond cut on all our diamonds.
The best grade we give a diamond for cut (and this only applies to round diamonds) is Hearts and Arrows. The next best grade is excellent, and after that, Very Good, then Good, and finally Poor. We don’t sell ANY poor cut diamonds at all on Tataza Diamonds!
